BASBOOSA - HARISA - NAMOORA
WEDDING CAKES
Tired of the same old frosting and flour cakes? Why not go with another cake type?
Basboosa, also known as Harissa and Namoora in other Arab countries, is a cake made with cream of wheat, yogurt, eggs, and sugar.
After it comes out of the oven and while it is stil hot, a generous amount of simple syrup is poured over the cake until the entire cake has abosorbed the syrup.
Topings of pistacio or other nut meats decorate the cake with other dried or candied fruit. Speacialty colored granulated sugar can add additionall flash.
Cake can be made with nut meats, chocolate chips, or other filling mixed in for added flavor.
Execellent alternative for that special day!
